We are a powerful movement made up of millions of people like you — People who believe that corruption, human rights violation and power abuse should have no place in this world. Working together, we can stand up against these and push them back in the Nigeria and across Africa.
Through our Front-line Team, CIAN works with grassroots Action Corps who we call volunteers in states and local governments across Nigeria, who may be private individuals or organizations in their local communities that share the vision and goals of the organization. Each day, we are consistently inspired by all the actions, and power, our volunteers achieve in their communities to fight for national interests, protect their common patrimony, and defend their human rights. We build grassroots support through our volunteers, by segregating into work groups, canvassing for big events, talking to community groups, and recruiting neighbors to take actions. We harness the power of the grassroots support, and leverage on the most impactful ways of social actions against injustices, corruption, impunity and power abuse, human rights violations and anti-people policies. To make the voices of our grassroots volunteers heard by their elected officials, we continuously train and empower our grassroots activists with issue and skill-based training that prepares them to influence decision makers, in addition to giving them resources to translate their passion into action.
